Selected works by Breeze

Phoenix born artist Breeze, began painting street art in 1993. Having been brought up in two separate worlds(The city of Phoenix and the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Reservation), Breeze experienced the balance of beauty and chaos in both environments. Without any formal art education, painting graffiti in the inner city of Phoenix was a jumping off point for a life long obsession with making art.

Today, his work on canvas is a mixture of intricate abstract designs, inspired by graffiti art, calligraphy, hieroglyphics, as well as traditional Tohono O’odham basketry and ancient HoHokam (HuHugam) pottery designs. Already being very organic, the line work, whether on wall or paper, is almost always created by intuition and never planned or sketched out ahead of time. Breeze’s work continues to evolve,  bridging his past to the present and growing into future.
